PRIVACY POLICY

Polly Parker Press, LLC (doing business as Norberthood)

Effective date: July 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Polly Parker Press, LLC, doing business as Norberthood (collectively, “Polly Parker Press,” “Norberthood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit www.norberthood.com (the “Site”), subscribe to the Norbert newsletter, contact us, or otherwise interact with us through the Site.

Shopping and purchase notice: Norberthood.com does not host a checkout on this website. The “Book Shop” connects to PollyParkerPress.com, another website owned and operated by Polly Parker Press, LLC. Purchases made there are transactions with Polly Parker Press, LLC and are governed by the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, shipping policy, and return policy posted on PollyParkerPress.com. “The Norbert Shop” connects to Spreadshirt, an independent third-party print-on-demand retailer. The “Photo Book” page may connect to Simon & Schuster and other independent booksellers. Purchases made through Spreadshirt, Simon & Schuster, or another independent retailer are governed by that retailer’s terms, privacy policy, payment, shipping, digital-access, and return policies.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information collected through Norberthood.com and direct communications relating to this Site. It does not govern the independent privacy practices of Spreadshirt, Simon & Schuster, Amazon, Books-A-Million, other booksellers, social-media services, or other third-party websites. The Polly Parker Press online shop at www.PollyParkerPress.com has its own privacy notice governing information collected there.

2. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide

·       Newsletter information, such as your email address and any preferences or confirmation information associated with your subscription.

·       Communications and submissions, such as your name, email address, postal address, message contents, fan mail, fan art, photographs, testimonials, or other materials you choose to send us.

·       Rights-request information, including information reasonably needed to locate your records and verify your identity or authority to act for another person.

Information collected automatically

·       Device and network information, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and general location derived from an IP address.

·       Usage information, such as referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, searches, scrolling activity, dates and times of visits, and interactions with Site features.

·       Cookie and similar-technology information used to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Site. See Section 6.

Information from others

We may receive limited information from service providers that support the Site, newsletter, security, analytics, or communications. We may also receive information when someone contacts us about you or submits materials that include you, subject to applicable law.

3. How We Use Personal Information

·       Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site.

·       Provide requested content, respond to messages, and administer newsletter subscriptions.

·       Display or otherwise use submitted fan content only as permitted by our Terms of Use, a separate release, or other authorization.

·       Understand Site traffic and engagement and evaluate the effectiveness of our content.

·       Protect our rights, users, property, and services; prevent fraud or misuse; and comply with law, legal process, and enforceable requests.

·       Carry out another purpose disclosed when information is collected or with your consent.

4. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described above:

·       Website and technology providers, including Squarespace, which hosts and supports the Site and may provide analytics, form, security, and email-related services.

·       Professional advisers and vendors that help us with technology, communications, legal, accounting, or business operations, subject to appropriate obligations.

·       Government authorities, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

·       A successor or transaction participant in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or similar business event, subject to applicable law.

·       Other parties at your direction, with your consent, or as disclosed when you provide the information.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices before engaging in the new practice.

5. Third-Party Shops, Book Retailers, and External Links

Spreadshirt / The Norbert Shop

The Norbert Shop link takes you to a Spreadshirt-operated website. Spreadshirt independently processes product selections, account information, payment information, billing and shipping addresses, fulfillment, returns, customer service, cookies, and other transaction data under its own terms and privacy policy. Norberthood generally does not receive your payment-card information or the full information you submit to Spreadshirt. We may receive limited reports or information made available to shop partners, such as sales, product, royalty, or customer-service information, depending on Spreadshirt’s tools and your choices.

Polly Parker Press Book Shop

The Book Shop link takes you to www.PollyParkerPress.com. Information collected through that website and its checkout is governed by the Polly Parker Press Shop privacy notice presented there.

Simon & Schuster and other booksellers

Links for Norbert’s Little Lessons for a Big Life and other books may lead to Simon & Schuster or independent retailers. Those third parties independently control their websites, purchases, accounts, cookies, fulfillment, and privacy practices. A link does not mean that we control the third party. Some links may be affiliate links; if so, we may receive a commission or referral information without increasing your price.

6. Cookies, Analytics, Embedded Content, and Privacy Signals

Squarespace and other providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, server logs, or similar technologies to provide essential Site functions, remember settings, prevent abuse, and measure Site traffic. Social-media buttons, embedded posts or videos, fonts, and other third-party content may allow the provider to collect information about your browser, device, IP address, and interaction with that content, particularly if you are logged in to the provider’s service.

You can manage cookies through your browser and, where available, the Site’s cookie controls. Blocking some cookies may affect Site operation. Because there is not yet a uniform industry response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, the Site may not respond to those signals. Where legally required and technically supported, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for the browser or device sending the signal. Because we do not knowingly sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, such a signal ordinarily will not change our practices.

7. Newsletter and Marketing Communications

If you subscribe to the Norbert newsletter, we use your email address to send the content and offers you requested. We may use Squarespace Email Campaigns or another disclosed email service provider to deliver and measure messages. You may unsubscribe at any time through the link in a marketing email. We may retain limited suppression-list information so that we can honor your opt-out. Transactional or service messages, if any, are not marketing messages.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, maintain newsletter preferences, respond to communications, preserve authorized content and business records, resolve disputes, protect the Site, and meet legal, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, why it was collected, and applicable requirements. We may delete, de-identify, or aggregate information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information, payment-card information, passwords, medical information, or government identification numbers through ordinary email or unsolicited submissions.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site celebrates kindness and may appeal to families, but it is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Children under 13 should not subscribe, contact us, or submit fan content through the Site. A parent or legal guardian may communicate or submit materials on a child’s behalf. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without proper consent, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

11. California Privacy Disclosures

California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

Consistent with CalOPPA, this Policy identifies the categories of personal information we collect, the categories of third parties with whom information may be disclosed, how users may request review or correction of information, the effective date, and our approach to browser privacy signals. Third parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you interact with their embedded content, links, or services, subject to their own policies.

California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act

The CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, applies only to businesses that meet statutory criteria. Based on our current understanding, Polly Parker Press may not meet those thresholds. If and to the extent the CCPA applies to us, California residents may have the right to request access to categories and specific pieces of personal information, deletion, correction, information about collection and disclosure, and portability; to opt out of sale or sharing; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and to receive equal service and price without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

We do not currently use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a right to limit under the CCPA. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. We will not discriminate against you for making a legally protected privacy request.

California’s “Shine the Light” law may permit certain residents to request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing as contemplated by that law.

12. Your Privacy Choices and Requests

·       Unsubscribe from marketing email by using the unsubscribe link in the message.

·       Manage cookies through your browser and any cookie controls made available on the Site.

·       Request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy right by emailing info@pollyparkerpress.com with the subject “Privacy Request.”

Please describe your request and the Site or interaction involved. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect against fraudulent requests. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authority and verification directly from the consumer. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Some information may be exempt from a request, and we may retain information when legally permitted or required. You may appeal a denial where applicable by replying to our response with “Privacy Appeal.”

13. International Visitors

We are based in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where applicable law grants additional rights, you may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Where required, our legal bases may include consent, performance of a request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Site, and compliance with legal obligations. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

14. Data Portability

Where required by applicable law, you may request a copy of personal information that you provided to us and that we maintain about you in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Where legally required and technically feasible, you may also request that we transmit eligible information directly to another organization.

Data-portability rights are subject to applicable legal limitations and do not apply to information controlled exclusively by independent third parties. For information submitted to Spreadshirt, Simon & Schuster, or another independent retailer, please contact that retailer directly. Requests concerning purchases made through PollyParkerPress.com may be directed to Polly Parker Press, LLC as explained in the Privacy Policy posted on that website.

To submit a request, email info@pollyparkerpress.com with “Data Portability Request” in the subject line. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on the Site and change the effective date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
